Montreal, Monday March 8th 2010

Hello Internet,

As you all know, the Olympics are over.  Our national hockey team came back covered in gold thanks to Sydney Crosby and his heroic goal.  Also, congratulations to all Canadian athletes, whether they won a medal or not. The important thing is to participate!

And now, you probably think that I am going to end this post with a nice highlights reel of this Olympiad's best moments. Well...no!  Like my nephew Jay, I am always one step ahead!  The next Winter Olympic Games will take place in Sotchi, Russia, in 2014. Let's say they have plenty of work ahead of them, as shown in this brilliant news report from Radio-Canada:

Yours truly,

Uncle Louis

Could you tell me where in the world is happening the most unique soccer tournament? (Ok, maybe not THE most unique if we consider THIS..)

In Montreal of course!  And what is so unique about it?  Everybody plays in the snow! No problemo! And -what a coincidence- it will be going on this weekend!

Big Up to my homie Angelo from the Ringleaders, for making this crazy idea going from abstract to concrete.  More details HERE.

I think this little clip says everything that has to be said! LOL!

It's the final countdown! Only 2 days to get tickets before the show!

DJ Klever! Arthur King! Random Recipe! Omnikrom! Shay DaKiss! A-Rock! Wow!

By the way, the winners of the contest are: Jean-Paul Phan and Pier-Alex Ducharme. The correct answer was: the weird diving helmet was used to transport babies during World War II.

The winners earn a pair of tickets each. Congratulations to all the participants!

The time has now come for me to introduce the new blogger of the crew! Actually, maybe I should call her a blog-her... It's my friend May. You might have seen her before in the episode "The Girls From T-Unit", at some party or somewhere on Facebook. She's little, she's blue and she knows a lot more than me about girl stuff. It should give more stuff to read for our ladies readers!

She should blog anytime soon since she couldn't wait for me to send her the access code.

Good first steps in your blogging career May!!

One of my favorite events of the year in Montreal is going down next week-end: the Nuit Blanche!  Each edition brings a phenomenal amount of shows, expos, and happenings, thanks to the Montreal High Lights Festival.

Above all, I don't want to miss Art & Design Montreal's Nuit Blanche.  Four fashion photographers and three architect offices from Montreal will expose their projects, that are bounded by the fact of being the fruit of a sleepless night.  I LOVE PEOPLE WHO WORK ALL NIGHT LONG;p

Everybody knows it, I like orange.  And I like nice kicks, and I like nice jackets, and I like everything that involves futuristic design. That's why I fell in love with this collection designed by Futura for Nike and Syracuse University.  Long live tiger patterns ! RRROOOAAAAAR!

I've been bothering my friend May for a long time to bring me to one of her T-Unit parties. Well, now it's done! I've solved the mysteries of their secret reunions! The girls were soooo coooooooool to let me in and to share with me their ....their....girls things! Special thanks to Kelly and Sarah for welcoming me in their houses even tough I'm sometimes a guy that behaves like....a guy!

Check this out!

Gonzales is the pianist that beat the record for the longest concert ever (27 hours!) and he is also really FRESHHHHH! I know it's not too often that I'm speaking about a piano player on the blog but his last mixtape is sooooo good! Songs you already know with a background of Gonzo working the keys. Great way to make your parents like Busta Rhymes!

Though Halak was too strong for Russia yesterday night, I still think Ochevchkin is just sooooo fresh!! I've never seen a player trying so hard to have swag on ice. Have you seen his skates? I bet you're wondering what is that weird animal on them... Ovechka means sheep in Russian so it's a devilish sheep with flames. It's just too bad that he can't play with his tinted visor!
